Thanks to the “Football at School” program, fifth-grade students from Sainte-Enfance School enjoyed an immersive morning at the Robert-Herbin Sports Center this week, observing training sessions, talking with players, and participating in a mock press conference.
As part of the “Football at School” educational program run by the French Football Federation, the fifth-grade class at Sainte-Enfance school in La Grand-Croix took part in a discovery morning at the Robert-Herbin Sports Center on Tuesday, November 4.
This national program combines a physical education and sports cycle focused on soccer with an educational project based on values such as respect, commitment, solidarity, and the joy of playing together. Each year, more than 4,000 classes take part in the program.
The 29 fifth-grade students, proud supporters of AS Saint-Étienne, had the opportunity to spend the morning with the professional team. Under the sunny skies of L'Étrat, they first attended the day's training session, observing the players' work and commitment. The session ended with a Q&A and autograph signing with Les Verts, allowing everyone to leave with an autograph or a souvenir.
The visit ended with a mock press conference. The students left their role as supporters behind to take on the role of young journalists, microphones and questions in hand. Facing them, Gautier Larsonneur, captain of ASSE, answered the questions prepared in class with transparency and insight: his career path, his pre-match routines, his experiences in the Chaudron, his memorable moments... right up to the traditional “favorite food” or “dream superpower.”
A delightful and educational morning that perfectly illustrates the spirit of the “Football at School” program: discovering soccer through learning, exchange, and interaction.
